数据如何使用MySQL删除某一行数据(mysql删除某一行)

Even though the application of MySQL database is welcomed by many people, data stored in databases may not be what we desire at times. Therefore, it becomes necessary to delete the undesirable data from the database. In this article, I will discuss how to delete certain data using MySQL.

The MySQL statement for deleting particular data is “DELETE”. This command is used for deleting the rows present in a database. It is very simple to use. For example, if one wants to delete a particular row from a table called ‘playlist’, then the syntax should follow like this:

DELETE FROM `playlist`

WHERE song_id = ‘1234’;

However, if one wants to delete all the rows from the same table, then the syntax should look like this:

DELETE FROM `playlist`;

Before executing a ‘DELETE’ command on a certain table, it is always a good practice to take a backup of the table. It is done to avoid any sort of data loss. One can backup the table using the ‘CREATE TABLE’ command before deleting. It will make sure that if anything goes wrong one can quickly refer back to the backup.

Apart from taking backup, one should double-check whether the filtered data is correct or not. It is done because if an improper selection of data is made, then the wrong data would get deleted, which may lead to serious problems. For example, the command ‘DELETE FROM contacts WHERE name=’Andrew’ will delete all the contacts of that particular name. So, one must double-check what he or she is about to delete.

To summarize, ‘DELETE’ command is a powerful tool for erasing specific data from a MySQL database table. Before using this command, one must ensure that a backup of the table is taken, and the filtered data is double-checked to avoid data loss. Using this command is a sure-shot way of clearing up certain data from a table.
