I have had a ten-year journey with Oracle, and I wanted to share my experience as an insight into what I have learned along the way.

I first started with Oracle in 2008 when I took on a job as a database consultant. I had no idea what I was getting into. I knew nothing about databases, Oracle, or database administration. My first foray into Oracle was interesting. I had to research and learn the fundamentals before I could begin to develop my skills. I was fortunate to receive some excellent advice from experienced database professionals who helped me become familiar with the database structure, components, and capabilities of Oracle.

My Oracle journey continued as I learned to build and configure databases, create database objects like tables, views, and indexes, and use the Oracle utilities like SQL*Plus, SQL*Loader, and SQL*Net. I discovered that Oracle was incredibly powerful and full of features that allowed me to do things I had never done before. I explored the features in depth, from database objects and their properties, to stored procedures and triggers, and even event driven programming.

Along the way, I also provided training to other people on the use of Oracle. This further advanced my understanding of the database and gave me the opportunity to help others. I’ve conducted workshops for students, as well as training for programming teams. I even developed online video tutorials on Oracle programming and maintenance.

My Oracle journey has taken me far and has been a great adventure of discovery. I’ve gained valuable insights and deep understanding of Oracle, the Database. I’ve learned how to design databases, build complex applications and efficiently troubleshoot problems. I am grateful for this experience and proud of the progress I have made in my Oracle journey.

Looking to the future, I see a world of possibilities that I can achieve with Oracle. I believe that to stay ahead of the curve, I must continue to learn and stay up to date with the latest Oracle technologies. With every experience I gain, I will feel more equipped to handle any challenges that may come my way. I’m ready for the adventure ahead and look forward to the amazing things I will learn along the way.
